Questions and answers about finding an apartment

You can find the apartments currently available on our homepage at www.wohnen-in-der-mitte.de/mietwohnungen or on the usual property platforms.

On our website https://www.wohnen-in-der-mitte.de/mietwohnungen/ you will find our current apartment offers. You can only request apartments from us online. This makes the process comfortable and safe.

When we receive your request, you will promptly receive a confirmation of your request by e-mail. Here you click on the button "Fill out the form" (initial contact form) and send us further information in order to qualify your request for processing.

Please note: We are unable to process general applications received via email.

For public housing, you will require the appropriate public housing eligibility certificate (Wohnberechtigungsschein (WBS)).

No, the apartments listed on our website and on the usual property platforms are always complete and up-to-date.

Public housing is publicly subsidised housing. To be able to rent public housing, you must be in possession of a public housing eligibility certificate issued by the Housing Office or district authority.

Public housing eligibility certificates are issued by the city or municipality when your income is below a certain threshold. You can obtain further information by contacting the city or municipal authorities.

To rent one of our apartments, you must hold a valid residency permit.

  2. In the detailed view of the apartment you will find the "Request apartment" button. Fill out the form and send it off.
  3. We will send you a confirmation of your request by email. Here you click on the button "Fill out the form" (initial contact form) and send us further information.
  4. We check your information.
  5. We may invite you to view the apartment. You will receive a separate email with further information on making an appointment.
  6. After you have viewed the apartment and are still interested, please fill out our feedback form. You can access the form via the link in the e-mail after the appointment notification.
  7. We check the data.
  8. If necessary, we will invite you to the service center for an introductory meeting.
  9. You may become a tenant with us.

We then select which interested parties will be invited to view the apartment. We have set objective criteria for the selection. This includes the number of people in relation to the size of the apartment and whether it is social housing or privately financed housing. You will receive feedback from us within five working days at the latest.

We treat everyone equally. We allocate our apartments in accordance with the General Equal Treatment Act – i.e., regardless of age, religion, ideology, race, gender, ethnicity, or sexual identity. If we can consider you as an interested party, you will be given the opportunity to arrange a viewing appointment.

After you have viewed the apartment and are still interested, please fill out our feedback form. You can access the form via the link in the e-mail after the appointment notification. After your feedback, the responsible clerks will check your details and carry out a Schufa query. After a successful examination, you may be invited to one of our service centers for an introductory meeting.

In all cases, we invite several interested parties to view each available apartment.

We receive many applications daily for each of our available apartments. We recommend making your application as detailed as possible and responding to all our emails. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide all applicants with an apartment. You are free to re-apply for apartments as they become available.
